The owners of The Imperial Stock Ranch, 20 miles north of Maupin, Oregon, gave our film, “Purple Mind,” a canvas of timeless wheat fields, forty mile horizons and a historic home which served as  the principal location for our film.  Here are a few photos offered as a thank you to owners,  Jeanne and Dan Carver.

The Imperial Stock Ranch is a twenty mile drive north from Maupin, Oregon on Bakeoven Road, which lives up to its name during the summer.

This five bedroom, 100 year old ranch house called The North HQ, became the principal location for “Purple Mind,” the new home of Iraq combat vet Roy Matthews and his family.

A 10 bedroom hunters’ lodge on the Imperial Stock Ranch allowed the production to house and feed cast and crew without resorting to tents and campfires.

The Dechutes River runs right through the little town of Maupin and provided an important location for Roy’s first confrontation with the Viet Nam vet, West.

Maupin’s historic fishermans’ cafe, The Oasis, provided the location for another key scene in “Purple Mind.”
